Hello! My name is Bin Chong. Born and raised in Suriname, I spent my teen years in the Netherlands and the US, had a short but intense love affair with China, and eventually moved to Israel, where I’ve been since 2000.
Coming from a multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-lingual background, I related to almost everyone I encountered, but wasn’t truly home anywhere. I felt like the ugly duckling on an endless sojourn in search of home, but eventually learned how to fit in everywhere, on my terms.
In doing so, I realised that being different was in fact my superpower and found focus within multiplicity.
My approach to transformational coaching and narrative therapy is rooted in my diverse heritage and international experiences. Born in Paramaribo, Suriname, I moved to the Netherlands at age 13, escaping a military dictatorship and civil war, and eventually went to an international boarding school in New Mexico, a special educational programme that unites people, nations, and cultures to help promote peace and a sustainable future. My time there allowed me to connect with my roots, which trace back to China, Africa, and a variety of Jewish communities across Europe, and ultimately led me to Israel, where I have lived since 2000.
With a background that includes an MA from the School of International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and over 20 years’ experience working in business development, international communications, and marketing, I am naturally drawn to the cultural and linguistic diversity of the world around me.
Therapy and coaching is a personal passion that I started pursuing separately to help individuals and groups identify and shift limiting beliefs and behaviors, and create new, more empowering narratives for their lives. I am passionate about empowering others to reach their full potential and live fulfilling lives.
Through my own journey, I have learned the power of self-discovery and personal growth, and I love to help others find their individual path to transformation.
My multicultural heritage has allowed me to connect with a diverse range of clients and understand their unique experiences. I have worked with clients from a variety of backgrounds and industries, empowering them to create meaningful change through a blend of coaching, therapy, and spiritual guidance to reach their full potential and live fulfilling lives. My process is based on the Institute for Coaching Mastery (ICM) coaching method that takes you through awareness, acceptance and aligned action to help you find clarity about yourself and your dreams, so you can take action that feels good. I will guide you through the inner work to help you vision, claim, and act on your goals, even when resistance shows up.
I use a clear structure that provides space, accountability, and tools to do both the internal and external work necessary to set you up for success. This includes inner work to support you in claiming and acting on your goals, as well as an integrated framework for building a rocking business that encourages and empowers you to find what works best for you. Learn how to get out of your own way, listen to your heart, honour your intuition, and practice being with yourself from this empowered place.
I will lead you through three main phases: claiming your vision, building foundations for a thriving business, and putting it out into the world. We will begin with a Kickoff call to set your intentions and get clear on your goals. From there, we will work through a combination of coaching calls and homework assignments to help you build both your business and yourself!
